David Gast, Ph.D.

David Gast grew up on a mixed livestock farm in central Wisconsin. He received a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, a M.S. degree in Dairy Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition from the University of Minnesota- St. Paul.
David has worked in the North American feed industry for over 37 years holding numerous positions in feed formulation, livestock nutrition, quality control, compliance, technical support and marketing. He has conducted livestock nutrition and management training sessions and seminars on the practical application of livestock nutrition and management research to commercial livestock farms in North America, Central America, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, the Middle East and Europe. He is a member of the American Dairy Science Association, the American Society of Animal Science, and the World Aquaculture Society and is a past member of the American Feed Industry’s Nutrition Council Executive Board. For the past 15 years he has held the position of Director of Nutrition and Technical Services for Ag Processing Inc (AGP). In this position his responsibilities include: product development and providing marketing and technical support worldwide for products and ingredients produced by AGP.
Dave and his wife, Karen, reside in Omaha, Nebraska and have two adult daughters living in the Minneapolis-St. Paul. Minnesota area.
