Head of RaboResearch, Food & Agribusiness in North America
Pablo Sherwell is the Head of RaboResearch, Food and Agribusiness in North America. He coordinates a team of 19 analysts that cover the entire food supply chain in the region, from farm to fork.
Pablo has had an extensive career as an agricultural economist. He joined Rabobank in 2012 as a Senior Analyst in the Mexico City office. He was responsible for coordinating the economic analysis of the Mexican agricultural and food sector with an emphasis in animal protein, grains, oilseeds and sugar. Additionally, he integrated the entire NAFTA region into the majority of his research and analysis.
Prior to joining Rabobank, he was Adjunct General Director in the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture (SAGARPA) since 2007, where he directed economic analysis pertaining to Mexico’s agricultural sectors. He also has experience working in FIRA-Banco de México as an analyst in the division of economic studies. Pablo has expertise in developing large scale agro-economic models. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de las Americas-Puebla, a master’s degree in economics from Texas Tech University, and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University.
