Mr. Zhang Xiaoping is the China Country Director of the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC), managing technical and marketing programs in China for the organization.
Mr. Zhang joined the American Soybean Association in 2000 as the deputy director of ASA’S Beijing Representative Office, leading ASA’S marketing programs funded by the United Soybean Board and Foreign Agricultural Services of the U.S. Department of Agriculture including marketing program strategic planning and reporting, marketing program management and evaluation and he has also been involved in activities addressing market access and trade issues. After the U.S. Soybean Export Council was established in 2005, Mr. Zhang took the position as Deputy Director and then Acting China Country Director, and in 2011, he was appointed as the China Country Director.
Before joining the USSEC, Mr. Zhang worked for the Louis Dreyfus Corporation based in Beijing as the trading manager for commodities including soybeans, soybean meal, soybean oil, corn, canola, rice and cotton.
Over the past 22 years, Mr. Zhang has accumulated rich experience in grains and oilseeds business in China and has been maintaining constant and extensive contacts with the Chinese grain/oilseeds trading companies, soybean processing industry, livestock industry, aquaculture, trade associations as well as government agencies at different levels.
