Just one week from now the Midwest Shippers Associations’ 14th annual Midwest Specialty Grains Conference & Trade Show, held again jointly with the U.S. Soybean Export Council’s fifth U.S. SOY Global Trade Exchange will kick off in Omaha, Nebraska. There’s still time for you to register if you’d like to attend.

More attendee registrations are coming in daily. The joint event will host more than 225 international trade team delegation members from over 50 countries through the efforts of USSEC. Attendance is expected to reach 700 again this year, with leading U.S. suppliers of food and commodity soybeans and grains present in full force. So too will be leading transportation supply chain, packaging and quality assurance service providers to the industry in full trade show.

A key final plenary session on international trade is set for Thursday, August 17. Paul Drazek, Partner at the Washington, D.C.-based international trade consulting firm DTB Associates LLP will lead off the session with an update on the current review of trade negotiations globally. He will be joined by a panel of international agriculture leaders who will discuss the opportunities and risks for U.S. agriculture exports and its trading partners in a “TED – style” discussion format. Joining Drazek will be: Ron Moore, President, American Soybean Association; Arturo Basulto, Manager, Industrias del Sureste, Mexico; Daniel Secondi, Head International Merchandiser, Perdue AgriBusiness; and Lucas Blaustein, Export Trader, Consolidated Grain & Barge Co. A European industry trader is also being confirmed.
